Peruvian Horse Breeders and Owners invite you to attend a Free of Charge Clinic, "Learn To Ride Your Peruvian Horse Correctly"
Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1 from 9:30 to 3:30 each day.
Participants will learn to ride and work horses on the ground. Demonstrations will illustrate each covered topic.
Saturday March 31 (9:30am to 3:30pm)
Morning Session
Background
1.) Peruvian Equitation- An overview
2.) Similarities and differences to other riding disciplines.
Afternoon Session
Basics of Peruvian Equitation
1.) Correct Position.
2.) Developing a correct seat, not a chair seat.
3.) Aids for Peruvian riding...hands, legs, seat, body, and attitude.
4.) Difference between true collection and false collection.
5.) Correct balance for a Peruvian Horse. Learn how to ride to achieve or improve this balance.
6.) Learn what collection does to advance.
Sunday April 1 (9:30am to 3:30pm)
Morning Session
Basics of Peruvian Equitation (con't)
7.) Define and recognize proper gaits...Walk, Paso Llano, Sobreandando and Galope.
8.) Recognizing faulty gaits...Pasa Trote and Huanchano.
9.) Learn to recognize Gateado.
10.) Difference between a proper headset and a forced (artificial) headset.
11.) How to use one's hands and hold the reins in bozal, bit and shows.
12.) Learn to ride the horse on its haunches instead of overloading the forehand.

*Clinic will be held rain or shine. *Please note an official PHBO Photographer will be on site, therefore, no outside photos, videos or cell phone photos will be allowed.
*Cost of lodging, meals and transportation are not included and are your responsibility. ** Lunch WILL be provided by PHBO on both clinic days.
