Peruvian Horse World

The World of Peruvian Paso Horses

First of all, I'd like to thank PHW for providing such a wonderful venue for Peruvian enthusiasts all over the world. And thank you to those that have shared their photos, videos and insights, PHW is quickly becoming a truly valuable source of information. This is something that has been missing for a very long time.

PHW is growing so rapidly that I'm finding it difficult to go through all the members' profiles to find out more about everyone. I was hoping we could have a central locale where established members and those new to the site could introduce themselves.

I would personally love to hear how everyone came to the breed, what kept them involved and of course, all about the horses themselves. There are many names on PHW that I recognize, and I welcome the opportunity to "get to know" the people that go with those names.

Hi Lisa-

Welcome to PHW and congratulations on becoming a new Peruvian Horse owner. We have wonderful members and groups on the site. It sounds like you are really active with your horses. There is a Peruvian Horse Club, The Centennial State Peruvian Horse Club in Colorado. You may already be familiar with them, but their website is http://www.coloradoperuvians.org.

Best,
Laura Mesia

Hi Laura,

Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting to know more Peruvian horse folks, and learning more about my wonderful young mare! Yes, I've heard of them, and thank you.

I am very active with my Tennessee Walker, who I adore, and Vista's addition was just in time as my Walker is due to foal in 9 days.

Take care,

Lisa Bialy

ello. My name is Amanda Barber and I recently bought a Peruvian gelding and am trying to find out if anyone knows who he is since he came with no papers. He supposedly came from Idaho. I have tons of photos and videos of him. I am totally in love with this breed.

Hi, I´m from Lima Peru. My family owns some PPH in a farm about 60 km south Lima. I´m glad to see how popular the PPH are becoming worlwide. I love to go out to ride by the beach with our horses, and would be glad to share this joy with the members of PHW.
Hope to see you soon!

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, so please bear with me as I get started. I came to know Peruvian by sheer accident. I was looking for a horse after being away from them for a short while. Anyway, long story short, I found my horse of horses seven years ago. He is a gelding named Doc. What an animal! He is the very definition of Brio. I have recently acquired to mares and my amazement continues, as does the pleasure of working with this breed. I could go on and on. I have a question, specific to this breed, regarding hoof care. Would it be appropriate to add Biotin to their feed? I want to take good care of those wonderful feet. I would appreciate any input and/or feedback.
