LEA Foals of 2014

"Love to see such sensitive handling in early foal training!  The babies are beautiful -- a good nick with both of those breedings."

Sorpresa

Posted on October 20, 2011 at 2:00pm 2 Comments

We recently took a fall cruise and came home to a nice surprise:

This little colt was waiting for us. The vet had told us his dam, Granadina, wasn't pregnant. Guess he forgot to tell her.

We've named him Veneziano because we were in Venice when he…

Marvelous Martha

I’ve made all kinds of wonderful friends from all over the world through this breed. But one friend in particular inspires me to enjoy every moment to the fullest.

Martha Kate Thomas has been coming down to New Mexico from her Boulder, Colo., home for several years. She typically takes a long summer vacation in Santa Fe to enjoy the local art scene, area pueblos and Peruvian horses here at La Estancia…

Bienvenidos a *AV Silverio

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 2:00pm 3 Comments

I’m pleased to announce the addition of a new stallion to our breeding program: *AV Silverio.

It’s more like the return of an old friend. In 2004, I went to Peru with Merlene Sutalo, who was looking for a stallion for her husband Frank. Merlene wanted a big horse with excellent gait and lots…

Warmest Regards,

Hi Barbara,
I didn't know if you were aware or not but there is a group entitled NAPHA Board of Directors election. I see that Edie Gandy has responded to the questions. I was just wondering if you would like to respond to them as well. It would be nice to hear both of your opinions. Thanks. Dawn

Hi - glad you joined - great site. I look forward to seeing Tesoro's offspring! I took a look at your web page - Tesoro is looking great. When I saw him in Ecuador, I was very impressed. The terrain around Quito is a great proving ground - for every 5 steps in any direction one seems to make a corresponding altitude change! I'll bet he enjoys having some space in which to move about! Good luck with him - he is a great horse!
