I was born and raised in Hawaii, I am German-Hawaiian, moved to the Mainland
in 1975 with my family to the west coast. I 've always had horses, with whom
I've calf roped-barrels-was involved with the polo poines in hawaii as a teenager, took a million english riding lessons. I was introduced to the Peruvian Paso in 1976. It was Ted Kalelaka that took me in and taught me how to ride them, (that was the easy part) show them and it was from there my life with the Peruvian took off.
Talked my parents into buying a whole bunch of Peruvians, and we started a ranch in Oregon, in the Santiam Valley, hense the name was Santiam Valley Peruvians-SVP.
we bought Syliva MSR who was in foal from Antares from Meadow Springs Ranch-and also two Lancero daughters, Celita & La Castiza- foals at their sides from El Tigre de Cahava, and the rest is history. My BEST FRIEND and still is to this day, Jackie MacNeil, we started the ball rolling in the Northwest in promoting this wonderful horse. We had a huge part in being two of the founding members of the NORTHWEST PERUVIANHORSE CLUB...so I've been in the breed over 30yrs, lived in Peru and central America, with my now deceased husband, the Maestro Hilario Carrera, and learn alot over the years. I've one Peruvian Paso left, Hilario's last stallion that he trained, RJS SENORIO, which is trained for the famed ENFRENADURA, and at the age of 16 he's still going strong, though retired, he and I just take rides across the countyside at my home in Michigan.
For those of you who would like a Bolero Jacket or spanish outfit for the show ring, contact me anytime. I am still making my jackets and outfits...With all this said, Aloha to all and hope to hear from from of my old friends that I've met
over the years. I am still NANI!!!!
aloha....
