Hi Everyone-
Well, it looks like it's happening. While the details will still have to be "ironed out" there will be a NAPHA Hall of Fame committee formed, and exact requirements will be finalized sometime in the near future. My thanks to everyone who has been helping with promoting this idea. If you are a NAPHA member, have 10 years or more experience with the Peruvian horse and are interested in serving on the committee let NAPHA know of your willingness to do so.

Although it is taking a LONG TIME it looks like there is progress with NAPHA considering a Hall of Fame. I have been working diligently on this, and hope that there will soon be something definitive. While it is looking good, more input to NAPHA will be greatly appreciated.
We've added more names to our shilohgaited.com "Hall of Fame"- check it out and add your nominee!

June 25, 2008, a new website dedicated to the Peruvian Paso Horse and its aficionados was introduced. Over the course of our first year, we have almost 700 members from around the globe...truly a "Peruvian Horse World".
It is hard to believe that a year has already passed. It seems like just yesterday that we were getting ready to launch the site and embark on a new venture. This past year has been quite an exciting one, with ups and downs, some unseen surprises, and many new and wonderful rela…

Last weekend we went to a trail ride and had the most fun with my sister and her husband. They rode my Peruvian and decided that they both want to buy a Peruvian horse. They own a show arabian that was given to them but she is just so choppy to ride unless you are postine or at a lope. E…

Is a network of volunteers to find Seniors with Peruvian horses who may not be on the internet nor currently connected with the various local, regional, or national Peruvian associations needed? Such as volunteers that might help families with decision making ie planning for appropriate disposal/dispersal. Perhaps some fund needs to be established to help out with trailering or short term feeding while plans are finalized.
It has come to my attention that a number of horses need re-homing from…

A MI CABALLO PERUANO

I have a horse rescue in weatherford, tx and I have been given a 19 yr old mare that has a hip injury on her left rear. She still gates if she and when she starts trottin across the arena on her own...she is very timmid of enclosed stalls, most likely from her trauma.
I would like some advise in finding this gal a good home, she deserves that much, but I have no luck with helping her in this direction, please advise me to find her a good home.

It was suggested by Ricki Lechler that we try to provide a way for people to share memories they have of any of our "honorees" and to also offer a place where any of the "honorees" can share any of their thoughts as well.
I will not guarantee that it will work as planned, but we are hoping the "COMMENT" section on our HALL OF FAME page will do the trick!
Ricki- thanks for the great idea!

There has been tremendous interest in our unofficial North American "Hall of Fame". How many of our "members" do you recognize? Who have we missed that you think should be on the list? Should NAPHA be starting their own Hall of Fame like so many of the other breeds have? We look forward to your viewing and input.

In early February, we made the move to my new operation just north of Blackie, Alberta. Starting with 120 acres of raw land including wonderful ponds and creeks, we now have a home and paddocks in place. Barn is next on our agenda -- just waiting for the frost to come out of the ground.
In the new facility, we will be offering lessons and clinics to support enthusiastic people in discovering the joys of Peruvian Horses. Horse leases will also be offered, including show leases where we lend our…
