Yvonne Neal Making headway with Estaban.

Estaban is putting his weight back on!! It was well worth buying him a lady to be with him. I hope she has a colt that looks like him and has her personality.

Patricia Memsic Ladies Attire for Peruvian Horse Show

Hola Peruvian Horse Friends - Are there any Show Judges out there? I have a question, or 2, about the attire for the Ladies To Ride Class and the Champagne Class. Can I wear a split white skirt (gauchos) and a white blouse, instead of my white pants and black jacket for the Ladies To Ride Class? And, can I wear the same, or white pants and a ruffled white blouse for the Champagne Class? I am trying to copy the Peruvian Ladies dress that I saw on Utube, from Peru. I want to acknowledge and apprec… Continue

Pam Johnston Some Personal Thoughts About DSLD & The Peruvian Paso Horse

I have watched the progression of issues surrounding Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Desmitis in the Peruvian Paso Horse since 2000 when one of the first veterinarians to begin study of this disease, Dr. J. Mero, discovered some startling findings. She discovered in her studies of 20 cases involving Peruvian Pasos that DSLD primarily affects the branches of the suspensory ligaments, that it is mild to severe, causes lamenesss either bi-laterally or quadrilaterally. These findings were a start t… Continue

Pam Elliott Enjoying Peruvian Pasos to their fullest extent.

Friday June 18-Sunday June 20, 2010. This will be one of those "breath taken away" moments - except it happened 40 hours over and over. A group from Medina Lake, Bergheim, Hondo spent almost two days at Hill Country State Natural Area outside of Bandera TX. We camped at the Lodge, and we had 11 Peruvian Pasos between us. The Texas weather totally cooperated - nice breeze, no bugs .... We took some very good trailrides while there - one long one on Saturday morning that was awesome. Our horses

Pam Johnston Richard W. (Rick) Mero

Dear Friends of the Peruvian Horse Community, Today is a beautiful sunshine day, with birds singing, flowers blooming, the quiet murmurs of approaching summer wafting on the air. It is the kind of day that lifts the spirits and makes the heart glad. But, it is not the day for those of us who knew Richard (Rick) Mero to have a glad heart. No, it is a sad, sad day for all of us who who knew him as Rick passed away in a car accident on Monday, June 14, 2010. A heavy loss to the Peruvian Horse Comm… Continue

Francisco Marcucci SEÑORES DESPACIO, POR FAVOR A PASO LLANO!

Continue

Arleen Morley A Great Day

I had a great day with Whiskey, the pictured Peruvian, after not having ridden him since last June due to several reasons. Short history: He had major hysterical issues when attempting to put on a bridle over his ears. And I mean MAJOR! He also used to have issues with being caught, and when… Continue

Jeff and Karen Marcum HALL OF FAME- APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY BY NAPHA BOARD!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone- Well, it looks like it's happening. My thanks to everyone who has been helping with promoting this idea. If you are a NAPHA member, have 10 years or more experience with the Peruvian horse and are interested in serving on the committee let NAPHA know of your willingness to do so. Continue
