2012 Youth Represent the Peruvian Paso Horse in Colorado!!

Clay Speaker, Orríll Speaker, and Micah Bialy were on fire in 2012!  The only youth ambassadors for the Peruvian Paso breed in Colorado, these kids could not be stopped! They presented their horses with a passion and brought their love of the Peruvian horse to others. From trail riding, parades, show and musical exhibition, to training, feeding, grooming and general care, they did it all, no matter what the odds were.  They were active in the North American Horse Association…

Danes's diagnosis

I found out that Danesa does not have DSLD.  I am glad I found her at Rancho Chahuchu as she is the best minded horse ever.  She is a lovely horse that will take time to heal.  She just needs a long lay-up and no riding for 8 months.

She has an acute tear of the lateral oblique distal sesamoidean ligament, surrounded by soft tissue proliferation and significant associcated digital effusion.  Relativdely mild distal suspensory branch desmopathy.

Dressage For The Peruvian Horse? You Bet!

By Carole Fletcher

In case you think Dressage is reserved only for those with Warmbloods, think again. Sure, in the upper levels of competitive dressage, the breeds of horses mostly seen in the arena include Warmbloods, Thouroughbreds, PRE breeds such as Andalusians and Lusitanos, with the occasional Quarter Horse and even a Morgan here and there. These breeds, because of their conformation,…

How To Tie A Bosal

Can anyone describe in writing the correct way to tie a bosal. I have a new bosal and would like to put Cender back in the bosal for fun. First, I had to soften it up with leather conditioner to untie it. Now, I need to know how to tie it around his nose. Any help would be appreciated.

Baticola,cuppler

I did not know this but Peruivans in the past carried protective battle geat.  The incas indians would attempt to cut off the horse's tail so the horse would bleed to death. Then the spanish added the baticola, (cuppler) to protect their tails.

2 years old filly

This chestnut Peruvian Paso filly is bad shape. The lady who has her live in Tennessee. She is asking $300 for her.

I know that her sire was an imported from Peru (excellent sire!)

If somebody wants to help this poor filly. That will be great!

Negative blogs about peruvians

Following is a copy of a forum on Yahoo Answers.  I am seeing more and more of these.  If anyone has more experience and knowledge regarding this breed, I think you should respond to these.

First off, not all Peruvian Pasos display the trait called termino. It accomplishes nothing as it's just a particular way of moving found in some horses to some degree within the breed. It's also found in plenty of other gaited and non-gaited breeds, usually called winging. Too…

Sorpresa

We recently took a fall cruise and came home to a nice surprise:

This little colt was waiting for us. The vet had told us his dam, Granadina, wasn't pregnant. Guess he forgot to tell her.

We've named him Veneziano because we were in Venice when he…

Mr. Jose Antonio Otero

The last tuesday Jose Antonio Otero has died!

He was an excellent Peruvian Horse Breeder. The horses from his criadero.."La Palizada" located in Huachipa, Lima..have old Peruvian bllodlines as Zanero, Oro y Plata, Copelia.

This is a big lost for the "Natural Gaited" Peruvian Paso Horse!
